Damisela Fernandez Cruz, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, is a multi-board-certified nurse practitioner devoted to comprehensive, compassionate, and culturally responsive care. With specialization in primary care, women’s health, and psychiatric mental health, she delivers integrated treatment addressing the whole person across the lifespan.

Damisela began her medical journey in Costa Rica, where she attended medical school and built a strong foundation in clinical medicine and community health. Her early education instilled a commitment to prevention and to understanding the social and emotional factors that shape well-being. After relocating to the United States, she became a registered nurse, gaining bedside experience and strengthening her skills in patient advocacy and collaboration. Determined to broaden her impact, she advanced her education and achieved dual board certification as both a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

In primary care, Damisela evaluates and treats acute conditions such as respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, and minor injuries, while managing chronic diseases including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, asthma, thyroid disorders, and obesity. She emphasizes annual physicals, preventive screenings, and lifestyle counseling to support long-term wellness. In women’s health, she provides well-woman exams, Pap smears, breast exams, contraceptive counseling, and menopause management. She treats menstrual disorders, PCOS, hormone imbalance, urinary concerns, and sexually transmitted infections with sensitivity and respect.

As a psychiatric mental health specialist, she diagnoses and treats anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, insomnia, and stress-related conditions through evaluations, medication management, and supportive therapy. Her dual expertise allows her to recognize the connection between physical and emotional health, ensuring coordinated, personalized care for every patient.
